Justified question. Rear windows may have wipers, cameras do not. It takes longer for the large surface of a rear window to become opaque because of dirt build-up than for a camera to become dysfunctional because its small lens surface is blocked because of dirt build-up. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windscreen_wiper
