Muslims do eat food before Taraweeh prayers, as it's done after sunset & after their first fast-breaking meal, called Iftar https://www.nutrition.org.uk/creating-a-healthy-diet/a-healthy-ramadan/ Whatever occurred here, this wasn't about food. It's not clear what David means by "Chicago toilet", either.
