Regarding Terrestrial Canyon Duck's note: The Japanese government has REPEATEDLY acknowledged and apologized for WW2 war crimes. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_war_apology_statements_issued_by_Japan Yes, powerful groups in Japan still deny. Yes, Japan can do a better job at addressing past crimes. But saying the gov't still denies is a MYTH.
