It has not been made illegal for trans people in the UK to use the toilet in public. Legislation is being passed to require new public buildings to have toilet facilities divided by sex not gender (this could be in addition to mixed sex facilities). https://www.gov.uk/government/news/new-building-requirements-for-separate-male-and-female-toilets#:~:text=The%20government%20has%20announced%20today,private%20toilet%20as%20a%20minimum.
