The term “assault pistol” is a relatively uncommon term with several different definitions. However, any definition that would include Glocks as an “assault pistol” also would include a 1911. 1911 is also a “weapon of war” as it was commonly used in WW2. https://military-history.fandom.com/wiki/Assault_pistol
