not the path of the sun it's the path of the shadow cast by the moon which goes in the opposite direction of the sun, if you put the moon directly between the earth and the sun at sunrise in the east the shadow is in the west, and it’s sunset in the west the shadows in the Est www.scientificamerican.com/article/why-does-a-solar-eclipse-move-west-to-east/
