Original Note:
4,949 trees were mapped. Forestry England estimates there are ½ million redwood trees in the UK, not only in Great Britain. All are younger than 170 years; most were planted much more recently. The estimate includes giant redwoods, coastal redwoods, and dawn redwoods. https://doi.org/10.1098/rsos.230603 https://theconversation.com/redwood-trees-are-growing-almost-as-fast-in-the-uk-as-their-californian-cousins-new-study-225475 https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-68518623 https://www.forestryengland.uk/news/over-half-million-natures-giants-the-nations-forests https://www.forestryengland.uk/route-for-redwoods
