Vaccines do not cause autism. Autism is primarily genetic in nature. Diagnostic substitution, increased awareness and expansion of the spectrum to include high functioning and cognitively able individuals have led to increased diagnosis of autism. https://publications.aap.org/pediatrics/article-abstract/117/4/1028/70958/The-Contribution-of-Diagnostic-Substitution-to-the?redirectedFrom=fulltext https://academic.oup.com/ije/article/41/2/495/692291 https://www.bmj.com/content/350/bmj.h1961 https://acamh.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/jcpp.12864 https://www.autismspeaks.org/what-causes-autism https://acpjournals.org/doi/10.7326/M18-2101 https://cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/65/ss/ss6503a1.htm https://ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4334107/ http://pediatrics.aappublications.org/content/early/2010/09/13/peds.2010-0309 http://pediatrics.aappublications.org/content/123/2/475.long http://pediatrics.aappublications.org/content/114/3/584.long https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/24814559/ https://www.bmj.com/content/350/bmj.h1961 https://www.nature.com/articles/s41467-023-37242-0#Tab1 https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/jmri.27949
