Original Note:
The Geneva Conventions have extensive rules for prisoners of war. Among them is a prohibition on turning them into subjects of “public curiosity.” This may violate IHL. It is nearly impossible to conclude with certainty whether the sentiments might have involved coercion. https://ihl-databases.icrc.org/en/ihl-treaties/gciii-1949/article-13 https://www.forbes.com/sites/ewelinaochab/2023/10/21/what-is-happening-to-ukrainian-prisoners-of-war-in-russia/
