This is what is commonly referred to as a 'straw man argument' which is a weak or imaginary argument or opponent that is set up to be easily defeated. https://www.britannica.com/dictionary/straw-man It is also misleading to suggest J.K Rowling referred to homosexual people as 'degenerates'.
