Though these are the stats from the NYPD site, both this post and the NYPD site fail to mention that convictions are down. https://www.nyc.gov/site/nypd/news/p00100/nypd-citywide-crime-statistics-february-2024 These stats track the number of convictions, NOT how many crimes are being committed. Also the National Guard was just deployed to the NY subway. https://www.reuters.com/world/us/new-york-deploy-750-national-guard-soldiers-check-bags-subway-2024-03-06/
