Yanukovych was removed from office by Ukraine's parliament. https://www.britannica.com/place/Ukraine/The-Maidan-protest-movement Russia illegally invaded and annexed Crimea and Donetsk/Luhansk in anger at the legal action by Ukraine’s parliament. https://kyivindependent.com/the-origins-of-the-2014-war-in-donbas/ The U.S. did not “go in” or cause any of these events.
