Original Note:

Stars aren't visible because the camera is adjusted to capture the bright lunar surface, not the fainter stars. The strong sunlight reflecting off the Moon's surface and the lack of an atmosphere to diffuse light make the stars too dim to appear in such footage. https://www.astronomy.com/space-exploration/why-do-pictures-of-earth-taken-from-the-moon-show-a-black-sky-with-no-stars/ https://www.planetary.org/articles/why-are-there-no-stars
