The more than 14M (14.8M) new jobs total is missing important context. The Jan. 2024 figure is 5.4M higher than the Feb. 2020 peak of employment before COVID-19 forced massive shutdowns and layoffs. It’s more accurate to say 9.4M jobs were recovered and 5.4M are new. https://data.bls.gov/timeseries/CES0000000001
