Original Note:

The "rainbow sparkle" is a visual effect caused by the primitive colour TV camera, which used a field-sequential colour system. The camera had a spinning wheel of colour filters to record consecutive frames of red, green and blue. The debris was moving rapidly between frames. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Field-sequential_color_system
