Original Note:

Bristol Cathedral was originally conceived and built as St Augustine’s Abbey in the 1100s and was a Catholic place of worship. It came under the Church of England in the 1500s, under the edict of Henry VIII. So it was not originally created as a “Protestant” cathedral. http://estrucba.free.fr/Bristol_Cathedral.htm
