Original Note:
The tweet author’s math doesn’t quite make sense. Avg household electricity usage is 600-1200kw per month, which is 20-40kw per day, or about 0.85-1.7kw/hr. If current generation is at 8MW (meaning 8 megawatts per hour) this means roughly 4000-9000 homes would be powered. https://gas.atco.com/en-ca/products-services-rates/rates-billing-energy-savings-tips/energy-101.html https://blog.peacepower.ca/how-much-energy-does-the-average-household-use-in-alberta?hs_amp=true
