In this case, it would be better to say that Northern Ireland is part of the United Kingdom, which would be objectively correct. Nearly as much of the population of Northern Ireland identify as Irish as they do British, therefore it is not "British" by definition. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/People_of_Northern_Ireland#National_identity
