Original Note:

The amount of lead needed in a human body to stop gamma radiation (your skin can stop alpha and beta radiation) is so large that you'd die before ingesting enough. Plus it would be distributed thinly throughout your body leaving lots of space for gamma rays to pass through. https://www.cdc.gov/nceh/lead/prevention/health-effects.htm https://www.cdc.gov/nceh/radiation/isotopes.html
