Original Note:
Vaccines do not cause autism. Hannah Poling was diagnosed with encephalopathy caused by a mitochondrial enzyme deficit. Because worsening of an existing encephalopathy following MMR vaccine is a compensable injury, there was compensation. The court didn't rule she had autism https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/nejmp0802904 https://www.chop.edu/centers-programs/vaccine-education-center/vaccines-and-other-conditions/vaccines-autism
