Original Note:
You can't compare poverty rate like this in a meaningful way. USD5.50 in Ecuador will not buy you the same as in Argentina. Also, the data seems odd. World Bank (the source) doesn't use the USD5.50 indicator, but if you check other USD value, you don't see the same trend. https://data.worldbank.org/indicator/SI.POV.UMIC.GP?view=map https://ourworldindata.org/explorers/poverty-explorer?tab=chart&facet=none&country=BRA~CHL~Argentina+-+urban~VEN~COL~GTM~Latin+America+and+the+Caribbean~BOL~URY&pickerSort=asc&pickerMetric=Entity&Indicator=Share+in+poverty&Poverty+line=%242.15+per+day%3A+International+Poverty+Line&Household+survey+data+type=Show+data+from+both+income+and+consumption+surveys&Show+breaks+between+less+comparable+surveys=false
