Its not actually jellyfish DNA that made the carp glow but its because it swallowed green fluorescent protein. It (GFP) is a protein that emits green fluorescence when exposed to light in the blue to ultraviolet range. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Green_fluorescent_protein
