If you dig in a little with the CDC data, "Accidents" is a huge category (IDC-10 classes V01-X59,Y85-Y86) while "Assaults" is small (*U01-*U02,X85-Y09,Y87.1). Even under the "Assaults" class, only three of the classes are firearms related. So the comparison is flawed. https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/fastats/child-health.htm
