Original Note:
Earthquakes result from movement along faults deep inside the Earth. This releases this energy as seismic waves that cause the Earth’s surface to shake. Wastewater injection at depths along fault lines can cause quakes, but Gaza is far from any fault line. https://www.bgs.ac.uk/discovering-geology/earth-hazards/earthquakes/what-causes-earthquakes/#:~:text=Earthquakes%20are%20the%20result%20of,the%20ground%20surface%20to%20shake. https://www.usgs.gov/faqs/how-does-injection-fluid-depth-cause-earthquakes#:~:text=The%20fluid%20that%20is%20injected,likely%20to%20occur%20on%20them. https://www.researchgate.net/figure/General-tectonic-map-of-the-region-The-Dead-Sea-Fault-and-the-Carmel-Fault-labeled-CFS_fig1_258774290
