For context these are Schmorl nodes. -Also known as intravertebral disc herniations. - Refer to protrusions of the cartilage of the intervertebral disc through the vertebral body endplate & into the adjacent vertebra. - Relatively common. - Usually asymptomatic. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9239389/#:~:text=Schmorl's%20nodes%20are%20herniations%20of%20the%20nucleus%20pulposus%20through%20the,seen%20as%20incidental%20radiographic%20findings.&text=Rarely%2C%20Schmorl's%20nodes%20can%20present%20acutely%20and%20symptomatically.
