This is a misinterpretation of the study. Those vaccinated had higher protection against hospitalization and death than unvaccinated without prior infection. Those with prior infection 1st have to survive the infection to have immunity, making natural infection more dangerous https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-023-47043-6
