Original Note:

The image on the left is not Nefertiti but Ahmose-Nefertari, wife of Ahmose I and mother of Amenhotep I. Nefertiti was the wife of Akhenaten. Different royals altogether. In Egyptian art, the colour black symbolised death and the afterlife, not strictly skin colour. https://egypt-museum.com/ahmose-nefertari-the-deified-queen-of-egypt/ https://ancientegyptonline.co.uk/ahmose-nefertari/ https://nmec.gov.eg/mummies-hall/ahmose-nefertari/ https://www.worldhistory.org/article/999/color-in-ancient-egypt/
