Original Note:
The post accidentally conflates “escape velocity” and “orbital velocity”. Escape velocity is the velocity required to entirely escape Earth’s gravitational influence, while orbital velocity is slower, and will remain in Earth’s gravitational influence. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Escape_velocity https://coolcosmos.ipac.caltech.edu/ask/267-How-fast-does-a-rocket-have-to-travel-to-get-into-space-#:~:text=This%20really%20depends%20on%20what,about%2017%2C600%20miles%20per%20hour.
