"Keeping more of what you earn" is false when you still have inflation. After apparently halving inflation, it means you are losing less (in rate of change) than you were at the higher inflation. You keep more when your wages grow by more than inflation ie inflation adjusted. https://www.investopedia.com/terms/i/inflation.asp
