The vaccines initial claim was to have 95% efficacy for preventing symptoms and spread of the virus. As per the new England Journal of science article, but the actual efficacy on application was significantly lower than the claim as nearly everyone contracted the virus. https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/nejmoa2034577
