The adoption of the Pride flag by 'LGBTQ+ allies' is by definition a signal of a political stance. The police are meant to serve the public 'without fear or favour' & inclusion of any flag or political colours as part of their uniform proclaims 'favour' towards that group. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/policing-by-consent/definition-of-policing-by-consent
