Insulin was not invented by a Swiss, but by a Romanian named Nicolae Paulescu in 1921. When Frederick Banting was awarded the 1922 Nobel Prize creating usable insulin, Paulescu wrote to the Nobel Prize committee claiming that he had discovered and used insulin first. https://www.diabetes.co.uk/pioneers/nicolae-paulescu.html
