Original Note:
In reality, most civilian-accessible firearms emit sounds ranging from 140-175 decibels. Silencers only marginally suppress a gun blast, bringing the levels down to 120-150dB. For comparison, a jet engine comes in at 130dB. Loss of life would not have been effected. https://www.ammunitiontogo.com/lodge/silencer-guide-with-decibel-level-testing/ https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/fact-checker/wp/2017/03/20/are-firearms-with-a-silencer-quiet/ https://www.iacacoustics.com/blog-full/comparative-examples-of-noise-levels
