The simplistic explanation here is flawed: it is entirely possible to have an electrical grid that is powered by hydro, nuclear, and other non-fossil fuels (https://ieso.ca/en/Learn/Ontario-Electricity-Grid/Supply-Mix-and-Generation). It’s also possible to charge your car at home with solar panels (as I do at home)
