Original Note:

Aboriginal dot painting originated circa 1971. Geoffrey Bardon was an art teacher in Papunya, Australia. He encouraged artists to transfer depictions of their stories onto canvas, but because their stories were sacred, they were painted in dots to hide their meaning. https://www.aboriginal-art-australia.com/aboriginal-art-library/aboriginal-dot-art-behind-the-dots/ https://www.ninbella.com/blogs/blog/dot-painting-origin-and-reasons https://japingkaaboriginalart.com/articles/geoffrey-bardon-influence/
