Original Note:

The computer animation of the nuclear fusion reactions shows a Plutonium (Pu) atom being hit by a neutron, after which it splits while releasing two neutrons. Plutonium does not split into two Pu atoms however; the neutrons hit other unsplit Pu atoms in the core of the bomb. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fat_Man https://www.britannica.com/technology/nuclear-weapon/Principles-of-atomic-fission-weapons
