In the UK, around 21% (1 in 5) of cancer deaths are attributed to lung cancer. Lung cancer deaths attributed to smoking account for around 15% (1 in 6.66) of cancer deaths. While cancer deaths caused by smoking are the most common, the figure of 1 in 4 is false. https://www.cancerresearchuk.org/health-professional/cancer-statistics/mortality/common-cancers-compared https://www.cancerresearchuk.org/health-professional/cancer-statistics/statistics-by-cancer-type/lung-cancer#:~:text=Lung%20cancer%20risk&text=72%25%20of%20lung%20cancer%20cases,UK%20are%20caused%20by%20smoking.
