Original Note:

Planetary scientists believe that small impacts regularly bombard the Moon, causing impact craters. In 2009, NASA’s Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) arrived at the Moon and began taking high-resolution photographs, documenting new impact craters as recently as 2013. https://www.cfa.harvard.edu/news/origin-moons-craters https://www.thoughtco.com/moon-craters-4184817 https://moon.nasa.gov/resources/92/new-craters-on-the-moon/
