Wildfires move extremely fast & are greatly at the will of the fuel source & wind. Hurricane force winds were fueling this wildfire. It’s very plausible that houses, trees, cars, etc burned but the fire never stayed long enough to catch the grass on fire. https://education.nationalgeographic.org/resource/wildfires/
