Original Note:
The first atomic bomb, Little Boy, was dropped over Hiroshima, Japan on 6 August 1945. The Soviet Union invaded Manchukuo (Manchuria) on 9 August 1945. The claim the bomb was dropped as a response to the Soviet invasion is incorrect. https://blog.nationalarchives.gov.uk/soviet-japan-and-the-termination-of-the-second-world-war/ https://www.iwm.org.uk/history/the-proposed-invasion-of-japan https://www.armyupress.army.mil/Portals/7/combat-studies-institute/csi-books/Glantz-lp7.pdf https://factly.in/visually-impaired-girls-photo-is-incorrectly-shared-as-she-saw-the-nuclear-blast-in-hiroshima/ https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/the-eyes-that-saw-a-nuke/
