There is no evidence to support such a claim. The FBI's definition of a mass shooting is as follows: https://www.fbi.gov/file-repository/active-shooter-incidents-in-the-us-2021-052422.pdf/view Given that definition, the overwhelming majority of "mass shootings" are from gang violence. Additionally, FBI crime stats show that ~2/3rds of gun deaths are from suicide.
