The CDC didn't admit that COVID deaths were overinflated. CDC has stated COVID-19 deaths are undercounted as many deaths due to COVID-19 may be assigned to other causes of deaths (for example, if COVID-19 was not mentioned on the death certificate as a suspected cause of death) https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/nvss/vsrr/covid19/excess_deaths.htm
