Original Note:

Studies show EVs on average hit their emissions break-even point between 15K and 20K miles of use. In some cases, the number is far lower. It continues to drop over time due to production efficiencies and cleaner electrical grids. Trading in a vehicle does not end its use. https://www.reuters.com/business/autos-transportation/when-do-electric-vehicles-become-cleaner-than-gasoline-cars-2021-06-29/
