The original Source for this graph Figure 3.2 page 41 shows that Left handedness was at 10% in 1760 and that the decrease was caused the industrial Revolution as it says in the original source which shows a U shaped Graph which isn't the same shape as the Graph Shapiro used https://www.researchgate.net/publication/241783005_The_history_and_geography_of_human_handedness
