Original Note:
My mom has photos of the brown night sky over DC in early 70s. "EPA began to phase out lead in gasoline starting in the 1970's and leaded gasoline was fully prohibited after 1995. As a result, levels of lead in the air decreased by 94 percent between 1980 and 1999." https://www.epa.gov/transportation-air-pollution-and-climate-change/history-reducing-air-pollution-transportation#:~:text=Motor%20vehicles%20were%20once%20the,percent%20between%201980%20and%201999.
