It is unclear LGBT identification is because of ‘cool’ factor. A large study including non-western countries found 27.3% of women and 10.2% of men have moderate same sex attraction, however just 7.1% of women and 5.1% of men openly identify as bisexual (table 4): https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7031179/
