Original Note:
Though only a small portion of the atmosphere, CO2's ability to absorb and re-radiate heat has a large effect on climate. CO2 concentration in the 1800s was 280 ppm and is 420 ppm today, which 99.9% of peer-reviewed studies agree is due to humans and impacts climate. https://climate.nasa.gov/faq/19/what-is-the-greenhouse-effect https://www.nationalgeographic.com/environment/article/greenhouse-gases https://keelingcurve.ucsd.edu/ https://news.cornell.edu/stories/2021/10/more-999-studies-agree-humans-caused-climate-change
