Original Note:
Guns that could fire multiple shots in a single load were not only well known, but almost used in the Revolutionary War. George Washington had commissioned 100 Belton flintlock, which could fire 8 rounds. Multi round guns had existed for over a century by this time. https://billypenn.com/2018/02/16/a-philly-friend-of-ben-franklin-may-have-invented-one-of-the-first-semi-automatic-weapons/ https://guides.loc.gov/submachine-gun-to-the-assault-rifle#:~:text=Multi%2Dshot%20small%20arms%20came,other%20weapons%20of%20various%20designs. https://www.historic-uk.com/HistoryUK/HistoryofBritain/The-Puckle-or-Defense-Gun/ https://thethermidor.com/the-puckle-gun/
