Original Note:
The flag of the United Kingdom has the thicker of the white diagonals above the red diagonal on the left side when flown correctly. When flown upside down, as in this photograph, it is traditionally considered a distress signal or insult to the Crown. https://www.flaginstitute.org/wp/uk-flags/british-flag-protocol/ https://www.lbc.co.uk/radio/special-shows/the-mystery-hour/culture/why-do-we-fly-the-union-jack-upside-down-distress/
