Alberta is now an "opt-in" province, the administration of Firearms law has been delegated from the Federal Govt to the Provincial Attorney General. This new law is both legal & constitutional; similar to BC AG decriminalizing some hard drugs. https://www.alberta.ca/albertas-chief-firearms-office.aspx
